But these black socks are the only pair I own! I've been wearing them fine for six years now and see no reason for taking them off!

Actually, I'm not sure I can...

Rob.

"He sounds like he's got the necessary prime qualification..."

HE??? I am not a "he". Bonkers? Well okay, I'll give you that one. This forum is much too fun.

Very Happy Melissa K.

In that case, could I please have my shoes back? They're UK size eleven and I'm sure they don't fit you... Sad

Wouldn't it be scary if they did fit? Shocked

Hey, aren't you supposed to be keeping us on topic, Mr. Moderator? Wink

(That was criticism, by the way. You see, I do still have your shoes, and I can safely bet I'm well over a mile away.)

Dear M.K.
Sorry for misgendering you ( I think I just coined a new word! Actually, though, I guess I mistergendered you, instead, since you are a miss. But while you're a miss, you're a big hit on this thread. OK, think I ran that one into the ground ). But your gender is irrelevant, anyways ( well, not to you, of course; I imagine that it's very relevant, personally ) since your being bonkers is the salient point. Yes, bonkeredness ( this coining new words is habit-forming but I'm starting to run out of coins ) is truly an essential quality ( quantity helps, too ) in this field ( it also comes in handy when you leave the field and return to the farmhouse ). All the great teachers I have known ( myself included, though I'm still working on knowing myself ) have been outstanding in the bonkeredness field. Just why they've been standing out there is anyone's guess - they don't even come in when it rains. Not enough sense, I suppose. But to get back to the topic of this thread - uh, I've forgotten what it is, and I probably don't have anything worthwhile to contribute anyway. But whatever your question was , the answer's probably yes, unless it's no - or it could be, and more likely is, maybe. There, that's all cleared up.
Regards,
John
Dear R,
" I said now, people!"
Jeez, make a guy a moderator and talk about its going to his head. Well, I ain't taking no stinkin' orders from someone wearing black socks ( and wearing them for 6 years, yet ). So, shoo, R - actually make that two shoos. Which raises the age-old question: Are you a goody two shoos?
Anyway it's quite clear that power corrupts - which is why it so much fun.
More power to you.
Regards,
John

I hope you don't take this too hard John, but your last post sounded like a Dubya election campaign improv.

Ah, but at least John knows when he's being "creative" with the language while Dubya remains blissfully unware of his linguistic butchery.

It's F Murray Abraham in the role of Salieri from Amadeus. A sinister figure indeed.

Dear guest of Japan.
" your last post sounded like a Dubya election campaign improv. "
Did I get the Texas twang right? I was a little worried about that. Gosh, maybe I'm dumb enough to be president - a sobering thought indeed ( if I wasn't already sober, that is ).

Dear R,

" . . .I will be more evil and terrible than you can possibly imagine!!! "

Sorry, R. Not only do I have a great imagination, but I don't even have to use it for " more evil and terrible ". I'm in Riyadh, remember?

Regards,
John

Dear guest of Japan,
OK, that settles it - due to a groundswell of grass roots' enthusiasm, I can no longer remain sitting on the fence. I hereby declare my candidacy. Of course, my campaign will require - ahem - funding. So, please send all your generous contributions to my off-shore account in the Cayman Islands. Thank you, my fellow citizens.
Regards,
John

I'm not letting you steal one penny from me until I hear your campaign platform.
