That is the most ridiculous statement I have read in the last several weeks. What you are saying is that no news on the planet is credible and state-run news that is heavily censored and directed is? Do you honestly believe that local small town papers all the way up to major news companies like Reuters openly lie in their stories?

Give me a break and take a journalism course sometime. Sometimes I can't help but laugh at some statements around here... they defy all logic.

Making 5 mao at a time seems profitable. It is like an extra hundred for those that post so much. Calling a person Chinese is not an insult, but arrogance is noted.

I don't think it was meant to be an insult. However when one pretends not to be Chinese when one clearly is [cough cough], it demonstrates the unique characteristics of how far one will go to support an agenda that is set into their head from infancy.

March on, dude. March on.

Pretty darn good English for someone other posters say is Chinese. Better than any CT I've worked with, and better than some FTs. It's bad form to take this approach with other forum members.

Too bad he's right that the increase in labour costs doesn't represent the entire cost of doing business. Still, for a German company that employs 2-3 foreign staff the impact on the bottom line may well be negligible, but a large school chain with perhaps 20-30 FTs on staff would certainly suffer as labour is probably their greatest outlay.

So, a WSE or EF etc, paying 20 FTs 12k per month would be looking at close to 90k rmb monthly in contributions (37%), Crikey! That's over a million rmb per year! Can't say that won't put a damper on things. In my native Mesopotamia that works out to 13 trillion shatniks, which is more than our entire GDP.

I think that this is an excellent post and that it deserves attention. Aside the respect that it offers, it provides a possible reason for the new tax.

A credible source is one that is consistent and publishes facts. News for profit is not a credible source.

If the evidence is there it is agreeable, if not, well, it's not. Go to Belarus and try to get onto a website. I don't think you can take forbes seriously, like most other news outlets.

Uh, Wangdaning. Have you ever even READ Forbes Magazine? What's your take on The Economist and Der Spiegel? Hmmmm...?

Do you understand anything about Western journalism?

Should we place our trust in bloggers?

No. Wait. The China Daily is a great source of fair and balanced news.

Forbes will give its editorial opinion and it will also publish facts related to western (mostly American) business. Be sure that Forbes has an interest in clear reporting anything about the world of Chinese business as it affects the west. The tax in question is (or will be) quite an issue and you can be sure that Forbes is watching the developments as the Chinese government reveals them.

That dissemination of information for profit is not credible is absolutely insane.
