|
|
IEC is an English training center in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. The school is run by a rather controlling guy, the manager. Other employees are nice though.
Trust me, this guy doesn't let you have friends. He freaks out when you are talking to people on the phone. He will not let you make friends with anyone near work or friends at all. All he cares about is work and business. His contract is incredibly vague and he doesn't even sign the contract until he is completely satisfied with your work after working for several weeks.
He tells you how to improve yourself blah blah.... He essentially forces you to do certain things even when you are not at work, because he lives with you. Sometimes, he will wake up you during the morning and yell at you to get to work for your evening classes which you can prepare during the evening.
He can be rather hypocritical, he tells you to do one thing, but he doesn't do it. The only thing he does is work and work, and expects you do the same. He will try to manage your personal life even what you can use in the kitchen. He will try to not pay you during the trial period, instead he tries to lend you money for living expenses, then he tells he will pay you later. He will pay for certain shared things, then later he tells you need pay for those things.
Once, he told me to go the office and got even violent right after I was talking to my family, because he was paranoid...
Trust me, other previous teachers said similar things after I got in contact with them.
Warning- IF you ever choose to work with him, BE prepared! Try to get the contract signed as soon as possible. Make sure that you get your wage twice a month(It is required by law). Don't let him take your passport. Repeat don't let him take your passport !!! He will keep it and not give it back to you until he finds a replacement for you and that could be months. You can take him to the police and migration office; he still won't give it back.
Definitely get a work visa and registered as soon as possible if you ever choose to work with him. Don't believe first business then work visa lies.
Ufa, itself is a beautiful city. People are hospitable and friendly, but with him there is not so much social life... |

It sounds like about as much fun as punching yourself in the face. It's a shame such an insecure and unstable guy is the boss. |

Sounds like an absolute nightmare. why is he making employees live with him?
I would never live with my boss under ANY circumstances. And him pulling crap with money and passports. Don't know who would want to work in Ufa but thanks for the warning.
So what happened with you? Did you extradite yourself and get the heck outta dodge? |

It is impossible for me to leave until I get a new passport and my visa restored.
I'm forced to work with him until he get my passport or make enough to get a new one.
The consulate said I must get a new passport and pay the fine because he didn't register me. |

Now, he doesn't even want to work with me, because the police report was completed.
Yeah, definitely should not live with your boss.... |

He got punished, but still no passport and I have to pay more fines.... This sucks, I'm afraid I can't get a new visa to Russia.
This guy screwed me over so many ways, I think it would've been better if I didn't go to the police and just solved it personally. The police just wasted time and gave me a bad record and him too. |
