totally weird game. didn't enjoy it. Yes, I do hate Man U. The Man U Dutch Van was a cheating git as usual. And the Fener Dutch Van never woke up. However Man U are only 1 point ahead of Fener so it's not ever yet.

( I did, however, crack up at the Man U fan who had the shirt with the name Van Nistlerooney written on the back. Not a bad stab at word play- for a Manc)

Watched it last night with mounting glee, surrounded by a large group of silent Turks ,sucking through their teeth and hitting the raki like it was going out of fashion . Did the wise thing and made an early exit before the final curtain fell . Made myself as invisible as possible .
Boy were the streets quiet on the walk back home, usually Izmir is a lively place after THEY win a match, last night the silence was deafening . Such good losers are'nt they ?
Fenerbache fans any comments ??

rooney will have been locked up for joy riding. Van will have been banned for moaning too much. Rio will have been done for drugs again. Keane will have been locked up for assaulting a minor.(if the guys who tried to bomb his house last week don't get him first that is). And.. oops sorry
Back in the 'bul Fener will take them.

You are all clearly utter fools, without even a basic grasp of football knowledge. Younf Rooney is better than Pele or Maradona. He would have scored more than 3 but this was his first game back from injury. FB should be ashamed of themselves for setting foot on the same pitch as Man Utd. The return leg will be 6-0, and not to the canaries.

We 'eard ya the first time.

Manchester united are corporate scum and buying Wayne Rooney was cheating. If Fener had had enough money to buy Rooney then we'd have won.

Aye, but we'll still have Smiffy (well for the first two minutes til he gets sent off for a petulant backheel/slide tackle/tackle from behind/headbut...)

Dream on dmb, dream on...

(love the rooney bit though!)

By the time the two teams meet again in Istanbul it won't matter. Man Utd may well field a B team and Fener could score well. It will all be history by then. The Turks will count it as a historic victory none the less, even if they're out of the championship and Man Utd go through.

To be honest, Daum has done a better job than anyone could have predicted, and FB are certainly a lot better than when they last played in the group stage.

Looking good for a UEFA Cup spot (do they still get that if they finish 3rd)? Question
