I think Ludders is the alter ego of many of use.
He takes the time to write what most of use are too lazy to write and spell check.'
And his paitence and care in replyign to those who would come to HK, thus reducing market prices for teachers through over supply is wonderful.
3 cheers for Ludwick.

I'm back to support my good friend Ludwig.
I appreciate your style. You deserve 'hero' status. You say things that even I dare not. It's really ______ we should have a go at...
And, who is: _________? (not me)
Well done,
Appreciative Freddie! |

Lovely attitude. I hope I never work with someone like you. I feel I'd have to be watching my back all the time. |

Fred,
How are you finding the MA TESOL? Are you doing it in Hong Kong, or at distance?
I've just started my PGCE and know exactly what you mean by "a needed break"! |

You mean the mad bee man has been told to buzz off
Now that would be such a shame for all the civilised seekers of information. He should, however, now have more time to spend with his insects and thus finish his PHd faster.
Bye Luddy, I'd like to say its been fun and nice to meet you, I really would. |

Poor Ludders, just because he's so shy and retiring there's no need for the rest of us to gang up on him... still if he has been banned (again) I don't suppose we'll have to wait long for his next insubstantiation... |

What the heck? I have no interest in monitoring anyone. Sounds like you lack self confidence in your abilities.
To: Mark O and Freddie , I commencing a Dip.TESL (distance) and hopefully an M.Ed TESOL (by research) to commence Mid. to end of next year. How are your study loads?

Mark,
It's a combination of distance learning and class contact hours in Hong Kong from a UK University.
Three stages:
1) TESOL Certificate ($35,000)
2) TESOL Diploma ($30,000)
3) MA TESOL ($10,000)
It's nearly a 2 year programme. You can stop at any stage and have up to 5 years to complete. The cost is reasonable for HK.
Get that PGCE Mark-O! December is a free month so I can enjoy my life more then.
Gotta' write! |

To the above poster.
Do I detect a scapegoat? My conscience is clear.

Instead, jokers like 'Oscar', 'Asia Traveller', and '2 over Lee' - with others - decree that only their views are legitimate and expressible. If others do not comply, they then bombard the forum with childish posts filled with name-calling and sad pictures obviously taken from their (not too distant) playground days |
Eh? Is that you? |

OK, welcome back my friend!
I know your a fan ofBlair( Eric) and you just cant hide your style ( I think youve tried).
So you blame me for the death of Ludwig, but lets keep things civil and on topic in this lifetime. |

Chris, no doubt you are in a similar boat when it comes to workloads then! Best of luck with both, and please keep us posted on anything of interest or assistance!
Chris, Fred:
Thanks for the support - I intend to follow this one through, despite the hectic schedule and abominable workloads. I've literally just had my first week at university, so accurately gauging my workload would be a bit premature. However, I've had a flavour of what needs to be done over the course of the next 8 months, and it looks horrific: assignments, seminars, plans, evaluations etc, etc; and somehow I'm meant to find time to pass the national skills tests for Literacy, Numeracy and Science - a luxury I guess you missed when you did your PGCE!
This week I begin my first of three school placements at a (fairly) local school. I've been rewarded with the reception/year 1's! However, there is a perk: my first class constitutes only 12 children - perfect for a virgin trainee teacher!
Two days of every week of the first term will be spent in school, and this ramps up considerably in term 2, and by term 3 you are basically free labour for the school! The course has a heavy emphasis on practical teaching, which affords me a reasonable amount of school experience by the end of it.
Best of luck to the both of you on the Masters, and let us know how you manage the balancing act of teaching and studying!
Fred, which UK university are you studying with? I hear that Leicester does a good MA TESOL programme. |
