They give quite a lot of info about this on their website. Have you checked? |

Hey googlebrains,
Maybe we shall meet in Ankara. What will you be teaching? Where are you now? |

Have you checked the Bilkent website and contacted any of the department pages? They have email links for both the local and foreign professors and it could be useful to write to them. (I'm not saying to ask about salary, but just to get a feel for the department.) |

Ivy leaguer, eh? I have never taken philosophy, but I am assuming that Hegel has written a weighty tome for this purpose! |

Do you speak Turkish? Have you spent time in Turkey?
I must admit, thinking back to my days in a big state-owned univ., I am visualizing an angst-ridden, bearded, scruffy, wearing the same yellow shirt for a month, philosophy major types - but then I was in college a few years ago and it was fashionable to wear boxer shorts over long johns to class...
I doubt any male in Turkey would stoop so fashionably low as to wear A&F t-shirts - I'm guessing European standards prevail! Do people really pay $40 for a t-shirt? |
