I was wondering (and if this is an unethical question please let me know Embarassed ) how many people received interviews for the AmidEast Morocco position posted a few weeks back.
Thanks!

Hi,

Not sure if it is unethical but.... I have one on 31/05 with Kenn Norris.

I have one as well - I was just wondering how incredibly stiff the competition is. Good luck with your interview! Very Happy

Is it just me, or does someone having an interview for a job they don't even want sound a bit weird? If 'Kenn' reads this board, then he'll know one of his interviewees is just wasting his time, nice one Anna.

Well, in my defence, and in case Kenn is reading this...

I applied for the job in good faith, and will not be interviewing this week. I had a change of heart, and told Kenn as soon as I realised. Its a shame, it looked like a really interesting job. Going through the whole process of interviewing when you don't really want the job (I guess maybe as a backup option?) isn't what I'd be doing, but I think its fairly common, no?

Have a good day.

Lozwich.

Is it true that teachers at Amideast don't have medical insurance and don't pay taxes?

I'd like to resurrect this thread as a valuable information source.

I had so many friends at AMIDEAST Casa that I should've just bitten that bullet and gone off to teach there. I was a BC teacher at the time and envied my counterparts at AME. There was even a poster called JRemy on here who I met on several occasions for drinks at Cafe France. His tales of teaching Nirvana had me crying in my nous nous. You can imagine my shock when he got fired after two minor complaints, though. If you're reading JRemy, why not say hi?

JRemy was not fired: he still works at AMIDEAST Casa.

Hod, in all seriousness is this accurate? What gave you the impression that it was so much better working for AME? It couldn't have been the money, but I guess that's just part of the story.

Anyway, I'd appreciate a little more insight into Amideast. I've read through the stuff posted here, have been over to Morocco from Spain a few times and notwithstanding your reservations am considering a stint there.

If the money won't stretch I hear they're down a piano player at Rick's. Failing that I could get a job cleaning glasses in the Blue Parrot...
