The boss puts more emphasis on enthusiasm and enjoyment of teaching than on paper qualifications. That said, some kind of degree would be good! If you have TEFL as well, so much the better. The staff here range from people with degrees, PGCE's and TEFL plus experience through to native speakers with TEFL and no prior experience. What counts is you like kids and want to teach. I know that sounds daft but there are plenty of 'qualified' teachers out there who seem to positively dislike kids!
PM me if you want any specifics |

| Well I have worked at summer camps the last three summers, so I do not mind children. |

| I was there for a very short while. Nice place, there is a fantasatic nightlife which I didn't really get to explore. But I hear it has quite a high crime rate. On a par with Lima. Something to be aware of! |

| Yep, I'll still be here, as Head of English now. As long as we recruit some people who can keep up with me in the bars. |

I was thinking before that this job sounded pretty attractive, but now I'm certain that I'd get this if I was available to apply for it!
Is there a beer allowance? |

| Now there's an idea! Would you apply if there was? We do have a place in Trujillo that brews its own beer and they know us by name now so we might be able to swing something.... |

I've just been looking at piccies of Trujillo. You didn't mention the surf! And its in the southern hemisphere! Beer allowance might just top it off!
But seriously, I would really like to apply for the job, but I'm actually pretty happy in Colombia just now, and in the middle of a complicated health situation that won't be resolved for about a year.
How about this time next year? That'll give you time to iron out the beer sponsorship issues. Did I mention that I'm an Australian? That could have a serious bearing on your negotiations! |

| There's no closing date as such, basically when we have a bar full the applications close. And Loz, we have an Australian on board already so you'd have company in the 'lightweight' part of the pub! |

| As the Australian recruit, I am all for the idea of a beer allowance. I see that I have some training to do before I get to Peru, if I am to keep up with everyone. I have been called a few things in my time, but "lightweight" would have to be one of the most insulting. Ja ja. I see that I have national pride to uphold here. Right then, I am off to the pub. |

Hey, Luna Chica, congrats! I'm guessing you're taking the whole family with you? Can't remember where hubby's from, but YAY to you!
Oh, and here's a little something from down under on the beer front... http://www.flashbeer.com.au/ |
