The acceleration of time as we age is most alarming. Not long before the Grim Reaper comes for me !

I'll tell you anyway.
They are fictitious time-travelling American teenagers (played byAlex Winter and Keanu Reeves) in two comedy films from 1989 and 1991. Their every utterance includes the words "dude" and "excellent". The Wayne's World movies featured similar vocabulary which has since become standard among young Americans, many of whom are now "teaching" English.

I did see a film - or bits of it - about a family who went into their fallout shelter in their back garden in 1963 and emerged after 40 years. I feel a bit like them sometimes. I am still anchored around 1965 somewhere.

A great year for music: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan going electric. Good place to be anchored.
