I've been to a few Asian countries and taught, and I would like a new experience I just don't know where to go anymore at this point.
Korea- Boring
Japan - Too expensive
Thailand - No money
Cambodia - No money and no jobs
China - No airfare yet and low currency
I think all that's left is Tawain, if someone can shed more light on this place I would love to hear some thoughts. I have a feeling it's not much different. |

In Canada you can get a B.Ed. in just one year of study and practicums at one of the Ontario Universities which offer a teacher education program.
This is what ghost did in 2001-2002, when it decided to go back to school to get a B.Ed. because it felt limited with the 1.5 year T.E.S.L. Certificate from McGill University.
Since getting the B.Ed. more educational doors have definetely been opened.

Hi old friend,
I don't want to make a career out of teaching Esl. Going to get a B.ED would waste a year of my life. I find I can sell myself enough with a Bachelor and a Tesl. Besides I taught in four Countries and I have some great references. The Bachelor is the key. I just don't know if I can stand another year in Korea.
Teaching Esl for me is all about reality. Helps me keep in touch with myself and what I have learnt in my past and allows me to share it with others. That's the beauty. I can't just keep myself fullfilled from 9 to 5. I need a social life and most Esl jobs with both and good pay are few and far between. There's only a handful of places that will give you all three.
What most people want from teaching at least when their younger is the fine perks that life offers without paying for it.
Money
Warm weather
Nice beaches
Party Town
Nightlife
I can deal with the money part, social life, and good school. |

Learn more about international schools. You would not necessarily be teaching your so-called Esl. |

I already taught in an International school, and that was without a B.ED. Maybe I don't want to teach in an International school..Henry! |

Hence meaning been there done that. I didn't specify an International school, but since you usually need a B.ED for that I thought you would have read between the lines. |

You're a funny guy. A bit schizo, perhaps, but that makes it all the more amusing. Sure, you taught at an International school without a B.Ed.
May I remind you of your original response to the suggestion "get a B.Ed and go for international schools, both jobs and money all over the place":

Note that you did not respond: I've already taught at an international school.
You obviously haven't followed your own thread very well. No wonder you are perpetually "confuzed." |

Welcome to the real world. I used you as a guinea pig, to keep your mind working, and it worked. I had you thinking. I'm not stupid enough to follow you because i'm not even having a conversation with you if you haven't noticed. The funny thing is you still don't understand this thread and your trying to win a war of words with someone in the reflective process. Schizo you say? Nah..you really just don't understand this thread yet. Try philosophy or better in your case...try acid Ray.

Please tell me you have a point. No I did not say I already taught in an International school so what?
Please tell me you have a point. No I did not give the same answer you would have given.
Please tell me you have a point. No I was tired and really didn't feel like answering you or engaging in further discussions with you.
Please tell me you have a point. No I just was curious "where the money was" as the person specified. I didn't feel I had to say I worked in an International school.
Please tell me you have a point. That's right we are not all like you, I hope that's not your point.
Please tell me you have a point

You obviously have no point, and until you do don't talk to me. |

My point is that "confuzed" is the perfect handle for this pathetic creature. There is medication for her/his type of condition. Let's see if "confuzed" keeps the promise not to engage in further discussion. |

I did not reply to your post about teaching in an International school

As it should have been noted at the time, because I don't want to talk to you.
I still don't know what your point is.
Learn when someone doesn't want to talk to you to take a hint. I guess you have gotten a few beatings in your life trying to pick up women in bars..you definately have that persona. Now your trying to pick up a guy online and he's telling you to bugger off. Don't you see that out of over 200+ people that have read this thread you're still the one here arguing with me for nothing? No one else seems to care but you do. I think the only one that needs medication is you buddy. |
