How about a GRAND GATHERING of the acolytes of Dave in Bahrain ?
I suggest somewhere upmarket. We have a few days off between the 2 semsters of the university year. |

A few days off - lucky you......
We've semi-closed for most of Jan - mainly for registration an stuff - although lucky old me has an IELTS prep course to teach.....
'Gathering' could be an idea though........... |

Camels as chaperones - ha - the ones I've met would probably be the first to lead the Pope astray!!!
If you're still up for it - how about um....next Saturday (27th) - as for where - will let you suggest that one.
IF THERE IS LIFE OUT THERE (Human preferably) JUST KEEP READING FOR MORE DETAILS.
As for chaperones - am sure we can both conjure some up..... |

A counter-suggestion - 2 Feb. Before or after the concert at the Cultural Hall at 19.30
Brandenburg Concerti and other light classical music. Admission free.
Before would make better sense. Where is a reasonable venue not too far away ? |

Whenever and wherever it may be, rememeber that on the Saudi side of the Causeway, the weekend is still Thursday and Fridy. Ergo, a Friday would be better, since both Bahrainis and Saudis are off then ! |

Fridays aren't great for me as teach at 8am on Saturday - Thursdays however are good - though not not for others working over here so much - well ok me let me rephrase that - not so good for B.C. folks....
Any other ideas? |

Is it true that the 'British Club' started in the the 1930's as the 'Polo Club' ? |

It was actually the 'Gymkhana club' - had to look it up - started in 1938 (i think).
Don't really use it anymore - it's ok though for the cheap beer, the pool and library......and quiz nights - of course though as it's always the same 2 or 3 teams that win - they do get a bit boring..... |
