Hi to you all in Oman

I have a quick question. Have any of yo guys been to a place called Wudam on the Coast of Oman. I'm trying to get info on it but it's not the easiest place to do research on. Should this be an indication that there is nothing there worth seeing?

Any info would be much appreciated. Wink

Cheers

Please ignore dude's post - yes, Wudam is isolated but it is not far from Muscat, the main city. If you are looking for or able to handle a post which is isolated but comfortable enough - ie, housing, food, gym, tv, books, close to the ocean - and then you can very easily zip into town on weekends if you want - then do it - save more money than most other jobs and enjoy life

From the OP's post it sounds to me like s/he was merely contemplating a visit. S/he said "nothing worth seeing?"

So... dude... have you ever actually been there? Or is it not worth visiting only because it did not meet your standards?

Take it the way you want it!

Yes, I have been to Oman and if you need a lesson in geography, I will PM it to you at your convenience.

Come on! WUDAM? When we talk about Oman, we talk about: Muscat/ Salalah/ Sur/ Sohar/ Ibri/ Nizwa and the list goes on! Where the hell in WUZAM?

COMMON SENSE PLEASE!

Well yes... common sense... we are still waiting for you to display some of that, but so far it has been noticeably lacking.

hey there

THanks for your input. It was jut a thought. As it happens I have accepted a job in the KSA. Only on a 3 month contract to see how I like it there.

I was Interested in Oman as a choice after Saudi... That's assuming that I don't fal in lve with it a re sign for another 3 months. The prospects seem some what slm a I'll be living in an Industrial city Sad

Oman sounds very peaceful and from what I've read the people seemvery down to earth and friendly.

Cheers again

Well, I suppose it bears repeating and maybe reposting on the entire forum...

Please ignore the dude's posts

They have gone from frustrated to hysterical and now to useless and silly. Love to hear that geography lesson! Could be a career move dude, EFL in the GCC might not be for you.

Let people read, think and make decisions for themselves, and you have no right to tell to anyone not to read a post or not to reply. Once again, be content with your own business!

By the way, EFL is not for me in the Gulf. Right on! Do you know why? Simple because I am not a "YES, SIR" as you are! I've got a chip on my shoulder.

Is this the script for a Ricky Gervais sketch? That might be one of the best mis-uses of metaphor I have heard in a while - or simply a frank admission of one's character.

Either way, great stuff !

btw, Noodles, sorry for the digression on the thread - killing time in the office has turned out to be entertaining.

Oman is in fact a fantastic place to see and explore. If it is a job in Wudam, at the base or navy set up there, it can be a pretty good post for a year. Lots of exploring, water sports, great people and great weather for 8 months of the year.

Cheers !

Too late! She's already decided and thanks for your input. I convinced her that WUDAM is a hole.
