I don't know if this has been done before but here goes;
I'm curious to know the origin of some people's forum user name. Mine is kinda obvious - it's my name "K" for "Kirkland" (my family owns the Costco brand (not true - that's from Kirkland WA.). Others such as Samantha, Guy C (can't spell it!) etc, are obvious too...but the rest of you? |

Mine is a combo of my first and middle name. It's also the username for an email address I have had for over 10 years- I can't believe I've been on email that long! |

Before 2003, Dave had a different board. And you didn't have to be registered to post! I posted as MEL. I've NEVER been called Mel. But I liked the ambiguity of it for a forum. But then when they started the new board I was a little slow (I had the page bookmarked and never entered through the main Cafe page) and someone registered MEL before me. Mexicans shorten my name to Meli. Meli? Melly? then it clicked Mel lee = Melee. melee (n) a situation that is confused and not under control. What could be more perfect when talking about life in Mexico?
Guy started calling me MamaOaxaca sometime last year, I liked the sound of that and used that for a while too (for exactly 200 posts) but I decided not to stick with it because so many people were reading the archives and sending PMs with questions to MELEE (even though I had send PMs to my new name MamaOaxaca as my sig.) I also was working with a guy who was shocked that I would give up a user name with so many posts--but this is not a game, those aren't points, just posts... |

MELEE - If you are ever in DF, you can visit a restaurant named after you. It's in Insurgentes Sur on the northbound side, somewhere near the Poliforum (World Trade Center) Metrobus station. |

In that case, I will change my name to "Minus15points" ... if you're English I think you know what I mean! |

The name is geoffrey ellis aronson, so the monikker is geaaronson. Get it?
And MO`s 39 refers to her age after you do some extensive arithmetic exercises with it. |

Mine is simply my last name.
Im not from the Southern states, nor am I male (despite what some originally suspected! ) |

I'm not actually a teacher (get it?) but I like the company here. I learn a lot from your experiences and hope to be able to contribute sometimes, too.

guero because I have black hair; paz because I'm a terrorist. (not!)
Actually, someone had already ID's me, and Melee already knows one of my many other secret identities but she won't tell. I didn't realize she was also OaxacaMama, but that makes sense.
I want to settle myself in Mexico next year, but can't remember the word other than quedarse that means to settle. |
