|
|
I'm off to Bali for a well deserved holiday at the end of this month... Any suggestions of places to stay on or near the beach would be appreciated...
I know as a KITAS holder you can get hotel vouchers from travel agencies which are better than booking on the internet as they don't seem to offer discounts if you are working in Indonesia...
Cheers!

Hi there,
I'd recommend the Hotel Kumala on Jalan Double 6. Legian. Good location (10 minutes walk from the beach, 15 minutes by taxi to Kuta), pool and big breakfasts. No TV in the rooms, but why go to Bali to watch naff TV?
PM me if you'd like the contact details |

HI,
I see you have joined that Bali travel forum They are a helpful bunch.
If you wouldnt mind staying in Sanur... there are some nice simple villas owned by an aussie and his indonesian wife.
250 thousand a night including breakfast.
Sanur Beach villas they do have their own website also. |

Sanur is nice, but a lot of the places are aimed at the er... more mature holidaymaker, and are rather quiet. It can also be a pain getting to Kuta as if you aren't careful, you get stuck in traffic trying to go round or through Denpasar. Finally, Sanur has sunrises, Kuta/Legian has sunsets. These happen at an altogether more reasonable time of day. |

Nusa dua hotels...
Im staying at the sheraton Laguna Nusa Dua at the end of may but thats for my honeymoon.
You have
Inna Putri,
Aston Benoa (all inclusive deals available)
The peninsula
the conrad
The Bale
Novotel
Nusa dua beach hotel
and many more
most hotels in Nusa Dua are fairly pricey, and large resort type.
check out websites such as trip advisor, asiarooms.com
Nusa Dua is under tight security. There are many cheap resturants you can eat at. If you get a card from a resturant they will pick you up and drop you off back at your hotel. (most of these services are free)
The beach at the Nusa Dua end is best, anything further up at Tanjung Benoa, the beach is quite dirty and muddy in some parts. However this is were all the watersports happen, jet skiing, parasailing, etc etc. |

When exactly are you planning to go?
When i was in Bali i stayed in a nice little hotel called "Masa Inn" its on Kuta a little lane called "Poppy Lane 1". Its quite close to Kuta Beach but far enough to get away from the crowd. Also in that lane they have many good restaurant one of them is a pizza place "Fat Yogi".
The other thing is that the hotel price is pretty reasonable. They dont care whether you are a KTP holder or KITAS holder. |

What exactly are you planning to do in Kuta that you need to be no more than 30 minutes away? |

We would like to go into Kuta a couple of times and I was thinking 30 minutes in a taxi is all I really want to do on my holiday.. in Kuta a bit of shopping and maybe a few "lemonadea"... |

You can get almost anything you need (including lemonade!) in the well-developed areas north of Kuta: Seminyak and Legian. You should avoid the terrible traffic jams and bad air in the streets of Kuta by any means possible. "Kuta" is only a nice memory from the 1970s and 1980s.
For beaches, (relative) peace and quiet, far fewer hawkers and touts, and great shopping and food, head to Seminyak. Avoid Nusa Dua at all costs -- it's not Bali.

raja gardens, jl ambimanyu, seminyak - just down the road from sante fe cafe & many other places; a nice walk down the beach to kuta; access to the beach (90 sec walk); a little oasis of calm. perfect. run by an aussie, John Stewart, who is a very nice chap. |
