At Casa Vecina, if we have a consensus, 3 PM (I think that's when they open). Casa Vecina is a restaurant/bar, pretty laid back with an eclectic decor. It's on Calle Regina, which was recently remodeled into a pedestrian-only street - sort of a quiet version of Calle Gante.

Casa Vecina website is at http://www.casavecina.com/ and though the site hasn't been updated in awhile, it has the address. Closest metro stop is Isabela Catolica on the pink line.

I'm not sure of the menu...basic, probably.

No replies? I'm up for this one anyway. It might also be a good place to do a book swap if there are a few others up for it? I've got a fair variety of books to give, and am always on the lookout for something new to read.

Any interest in this? I don't want to turn up with a bag full and look a lemon if no one else is going to bring some!

I'm planning to come, and to swap/sell/give a few books, too.

Can I be promised (in blood! Smile ) that I can get my books back? I am one of those people who cringes at lending her books in fear that I will never see them again.

I might be running a little late though as I have to run a Creative Writing Workshop Friday/Saturday (trying to sneak out early though!).

I'm like that too, dixie. You're one of the few people in Mexico I feel safe lending my favorite books to. By the way, I'll be bringing a novel I borrowed from you a while ago to Saturday's get-together.

That makes me feel better! Glad to know I'm not alone. I love sharing good literature but I also like to have the ability to revisit the book when I have the urge! Smile

Well dust them off or stop using them as doorstops and bring them on down! Wink

Hey

just seeing this now but would certainly like to go. http://www.casavecina.com/ doesn't work for me, but calle regina doesn't look like that long of a street. Confused

maybe see you tomorrow.

According to Casa Vecina's website, it's located at the corner of Callejn de Mesones and Regina, which is between Isabel la Catlica and 5 de Febrero. The exact address is Primer Callejn de Mesones 7.

Hope to see you there tomorrow!
