I was wondering if anyone would like to have a small get together. I post on the Korean forum and acutally met a number of the posters when I was in Seoul last year.

I am asking...as I am tremendously bored these days...all of my expat friends left last year and I have little to do on the weekeds.

I am proposing a barbecue at my house. Yes, I am willing to open my door to strangers....I have a leg of lamb in the freezer which I will put on the barbecue....and after that it will be bring your own...although I will supply the ice and glasses and some tasty after dinner drinks...and we can retire to the hole in the wall pub before my neighbours start to complain....

kids welcome as I have two small ones of my own...

We can spend the afternoon complaining about our jobs and students while playing scrabble, monopoly, jenga or the game of life. I am even thinking of havinga LIFE tournament...

This is also a ploy to get 'once again' to come out into the boonies to see me as he has promised so often....

I do live out in the NT...near Yuen Long but with Westrail...it is an easy visit...

Anyway..PM me or leave a message here if you would like to put faces to the posters....

Scott...Cheers. I'd be up for it but my next three weekends are booked (working Saturdays and resting Sundays). Then I'm off to Bali for Easter week. But anytime after that I'm keen for a gathering, so long as beer is involved! Might be more likely for us if it's HK-side though (we're on Lamma).

I agree with Marco...after Easter would be better. I am in the NewTerritories, but I could drag my sorry butt across the water for once.

Sounds like fun!

HK side here too, maybe we should do a BBQ in one of the BBQ spots near Wan Chai?, or else (if sunny) around Sai Kung?

Regardless of location, maybe we should make a rule that after stating where we work and the type of teaching we do, no shop talk!!! Wink Cool

I dunno about you all, but after 8 hours with my kiddies, I am prepared to leave it all at school.

Hi Scott,

Very gracious offer! Sai Kung, beers, BBQ it all sounds truly appetising to me! I can't make it just yet, say, how does 2006 suit you?!!! I suspect the ribs would be a bit cold by then though ...

You've mentioned the magic 'b' word - Once Again surely can't resist it now?! I've never know him to turn down a beverage.

folks...i appreciate all the responses...but I did invite you to my home for a reason...two small kids and a wife means that mostly stay around the old homestead...

so the invitation was to come to my house and have a barbecue...nice little backyard...

yuen long is not that far away...

lamma people can get off the ferry and onto the tung chung line....a few stops and you are in tsing yi and then there is a bus to fairview park where i live...

i swear foster...no shop talk...how about a scrabble tournament...

Is Freddie Unbelievable coming?
I am sure that there will be much nunchi and kibun, because everyone on this forum gets along so well. I may just fly in for the trip.

Ahem.....I must say that the prospect of convening to play scrabble doesn't exactly light my fire. Perhaps best if I sit this one out. Anyways, I'm crap at scrabble.....

marco....

basically...all i want to do is drink, eat and argue (i mean have pleasant conversation)...

scrabble is just a suggestion....we could play jenga...charades...or do elaborate chalk paintings on the outside wall...

it is just a chance to put names to faces and have a little afternoon entertainment

Ah well fair enough Scott....I didn't want to sound disinterested. It'll be fun to drink a few beers and have some fun at the expense of some of the geeks (moi?) who inhabit this forum (HK posters exempted!). Still, as i say I'm a bit busy (at the weekends anyway) until after Easter, but will be up for a gathering afterwards. Cheers.
