Hi cooltyp,
Most language schools do their hiring for the Fall term in September. But you may be able to line something up at the end of the Spring semester in June.
It's best to come out here and apply for jobs in person as there are many jobs here that aren't advertised online.
Do you have any qualifications (CELTA, etc.)? Poles value paper certs and it may be difficult to find work without! |

BTW, that wasn't me writing. It was Master Shake using my computer. We talked about your situation before he replied, and what he said makes sense. |

yes this sounds right. it is probably better to head up there as soon as the semester ends and see if i can get a job set up. I am currently teaching english full time and i have a tefl certificate that is certified by british educations system. However it is not as good as the celta. but then my education and experiance is good. Do you have any advice about which cities or towns to look for work in? I am looking for someplace that is fun and affordable. |

Pick a place other than Warsaw.
I would recommend going to Poznan or to Lublin. There aren't many native speakers there. |

Google the city for English schools or just walk around and you'll adverts for English. Go to the schools and hand in your cv! |

Before you go, google tefl.com and look to see if there are any schools hiring in your city of choice, and google English schools in the same city. That way you'll at least know what schools there are.
Definitely visit the schools in person with CV in hand. You should find something. Best of luck. |

Hey man!
Warsaw's alright, but after living here for two years it's time to move on. I'm actually going to Wroclaw. You may want to try that ave. |

that seems like a cool town from what i have heard. it looks like many schools really prefer this celta certificate..... it is probably cheaper to do this in Poland? |

EFL Poland is over-don't do it. You will earn 700 Euros a month in the most expensive region on earth. Take seeds, so you can grow your own food.
3,000 Zl is average for a newbie to the country. Here are some average prices...I was there 4 weeks ago and have been and lived there regularly since 95.
Rent-Studio 1,000/month.
Bills-250/month
Transport 100/month
A meal in a restaurant-30-50
Abottle of wine in a restaurant 60-100
Cigarettes-11
My winter jacket 1000 (puffa)
A pair of Levis 300
A pair of trainers 300
A whole roast chicken from a street vendor 18
A JD and coke 20
Dating? Double it. |

His prices are very realistic, though....In fact, if you can find a studio apt for that, ...great. And electric and gas included? That seems pretty good in fact. |

Poland and the UK are pretty close compared to S Korea. I think the guys sometimes come here for the girls...."chicks" as they call them (which I find a bit derogatory, but will keep my mouth shut). |
