Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone has any reliable knowledge of or experiences (preferably existing teachers) with Cfbt?
They had a recruitment advertisement on here early this year looking for a fair amount of teachers for Colleges around Oman. Are they genuine or time-wasters? |

CfBT are the very best of recruiters in Oman at this time. Ignore negative comments or comparisons with others. Just ask those who are with them now. You may want to to sift some of the negative posts, these usually come from people who really beieve that CfBT should have made sure that their water bottle delivery people knew that CfBT were paying for the water and the gas and the furniture and the etc, etc!!

Thanks for that input Duffy,
I'm aware of all the negative comments this forum generates, especially in the Middle Eastern sections!
CfBT seem to be genuine and have the teachers' interests at heart. Are you currently working/worked for them? |

I applied to CfBT in April. Got an e-mail a fortnight ago asking for copies of certificates and passport. They said they were hoping to interview in June for a September start. |

CfBT were shambolic and unhelpful when I worked for them. Maybe they have radically improved in the last few years, and maybe not. |

They have a very spotty reputation depending on who is in charge.
Since I don't know who that is now I'd go with the flow and make your own judgement. |

Lodzubelieveit,
CfBT have changed country managers three times in the las six years.
In my opinion Tim was the best but he moved on (within CfBT) and others took his place. The new Country Manager "G" seems to be doing ok but when the new influx of teachers arrive in September, that will show if they are up to it.

Thanks for the feedback so far.
I'm looking specifically for any teachers who are currently assigned in Oman with CfBT to send some valuable opinions this way
I'm interested to know how teachers are assigned to the various colleges at the start and if their 1st choice is declined how easy it is to move around the colleges.. |

Tim was certainly the best and they should have left him in post longer.
He followed a management which included one person now associated with the IQ Centre and since then, there have been a procession of managers.
If it is possible, they should bring Tim back and restore their reputation. |

Thanks for all the feedback so far.
Would anyone here consider a post in 'sleepy' Ibri with this outfit?
Are there any teachers working in the college at the moment, I'd love to hear from you |

I knew two teachers posted to Oman by CfBT. They were both satisfied with
CfBT. I thought that if I stayed I might try to move to CfBT from Hawthorn. But then I wound up going to Asia instead. |

CfBT have gone through a change in management and it seems ( feedback given from an existing teacher) that things have gotten worse...any teachers currently posted there care to comment?
I was told too they are only recruiting for an isolated and dull town/city - Ibri? |

Two Words - 3 times
Controlling controlling controlling
Do you enjoy being micro managed? It's more like a few have a good experience the rest try to get out as fast as possible. |
