They make me uneasy. Does the Establishment imagine that by handing out death sentences they will intimidate the opponents of the Regime ?

Friend was in Manama at the weekend. He says that it looks like Northern Ireland at the height of the troubles.

Rest assured that British advisors are showing Saudis and Bahrainis how to repress troublesome dissidents.

The Royal Family and courtiers in Manama seem to be dim enough to believe that the iron fist will get them what they want.

Watch this space.

The ruling dynasty begin to look more and more like the House of Bourbon in 18th century France.

As usual our EFLer buddies in KSA are more concerned about the price of a beer or a short time than about endorsing Tyranny !

Currently in Germany the opposition parties are questioning Saudi-German defence links in the supply of tanks and training of KSA Intelligence Officers.

In the English-speaking world the silence about Bahrain is deafening.

Dear scot47,

Is this it? Have we found the ultimate oxymoron at last:

" . . . KSA Intelligence Officers?"

John

Dear scot47,

Having the Mastermind, Prince Nayef, in charge would certainly guarantee that Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

"He noted that it is impossible that 19 youths including 17 Saudis carried out the operation of September 11, or that bin Laden or Al-Qaeda organization did that alone. We can say that these people are either agents or ignorant since their action was against Islam and Muslims. By this action the world became against Islam, Muslims and Arabs.

It is not a towering or trained intellect that propels Prince Nayef to propound these positions. His bio mentions his "studies in religion, diplomacy, and security affairs." In fact, his lack of education is one of his greatest credentials. The ministers of commerce, information, and foreign affairs all studied in the United States. From an Islamist point of view, they're tainted."
