We'll only take the transvestites that make an effort to be womanly, and only then, if they tell us where they buy their big womens' shoes.

Do you people have any respect for threads?

When someone comes on here to get info on Interlang....they have to go through this sh^t and somehow find something relevant.

I gave up a long time ago on may here exhibiting any kind of common sense on threads...but can't we show some kind of respect for the original intent of the thread.

Then people have the audacity to say certain topics should only be on the for men thread? Confused

Sad Sorry. I suppose that going off on tangents keeps us all sane. I promise to behave on the informative threads from now on.

Talked to some folks at Interlang.

Seems the place is quite disorganised. High turn over of Turkish staff.

The new DOS, David seems like a decent sort, however, he has to deal with a logistical mess.

How long will David last?

I give him 3 months.

How are the Interlang bonuses.

I heard that on paper it looks good, however, the travelling allowance isn't actually paid until the end of your SECOND year.

And that the bonus is usually calculated at the low end of the scale, ie 30 dllrs/month instead of closer to 100 dllrs/month.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Well,

heard through the grapevine that the INt. Taks. Manager is leaving to do his army service.

No one is sorry to see him go.

Apparently, very inept guy, arrogant and did nothing to support or motivate teachers.

Not a teacher who finished their contract this year, has bothered to resign.

They've lost every Turkish grammar teacher hired this year.

The DOS has had quite a job, cleaning up after this guy.

Hopefully, the replacement will be a more decent sort.

Sorry to be a wet blanket but definitely DO NOT believe the promises from InterLang. The DOS will say what it takes to get you there and then doesn't support you. He's too busy being a narcissist. I have never heard the phrase "It's not my job" used so much.

I had a class on Istiklal, and was promised another class in three weeks at another branch. I left before the second class was scheduled to begin, after figuring out there was no way I'd ever break even.

Things change quickly don't they.

At the end of Sept./beginning of Oct. there was an influx of teachers.

No one could understand why, as the season would pick up after the Ramazan Bayram.

Anyway, perhaps becz one or two teachers have skipped out on them, the teachers in Taksim have more than enough hours. Some are easilly working in surplus of 40 hours a week.

I would assume they are breaking even.

'Dude

That's fantastic for those teachers that remained. I'm glad things are working out for them. I am one of those teachers who "skipped out."
But answer this: If classes weren't going to pick up until after Ramadan, why was I pressured to be in Istanbul as soon as possible? Why did I have to arrive in mid-October and then wait three weeks for classes to begin? Why was I not told that I'd have to pay rent (first and last) on an apartment w/o any help from the school? I brought $800 US to cover costs until the first pay day; then I get there and I'm supposed to hand over $500 for an apartment? What was I supposed to live on?
Think whatever you want, dude, the school and the admins. there only think of themselves. If you sign up to work for this outfit you need to know that ahead of time.
