| I don't hear much from the Tierra del Fuego region. Any call for teachers down there? |

Not unless you plan to teach penguins... 20 years ago, when I actually tried to round the cape, there was no-one there save for some Chilean coast guard types to prevent fools like me from trying to round the cape without the required permits.

Aw, come on - there has to be a community of gauchos or someone down there who wants to learn a spot of English.
I'm still going with the principle I outlined at the beginning of this thread - that a fella might easily grab a job in a place other teachers don't want to go. That's how I scored my current gig. Speaking of that, what's up with the natives in northeastern Siberia? They must surely want English, too. |

Now that's cool. I'd love to see that someday. |

Is it considered poor form to bump one's own thread?
I'm still leaning toward Cambodia and Laos. Money isn't the biggest motivator for me. A relaxed environment tops my list. |
So where did you end up Steinmann? Also what unique places have you taught before? |

| Well, so far I know that in the future I want to avoid certain parts of China and find a place that is warm year round (or at least has mild winters!) |

I'm not sure that Taiwan is desirable anymore (it used to be). I notice that the salaries currently being offered are actually lower than what I earned back there in 2000! This also seems to suggest a lack of local opportunities for progression, so I'd avoid.
Korea? I can't discuss it on this forum, but there was no way I could see myself re-signing. |

China, Haiti, and most African nations is where I would not want to work. Why?
China - Too many cheaters (www.ChinaScamBusters.com)
Haiti - Too much filth and disease
Africa - Other than Kenya and South Africa living conditions are horrible |
