One can only hope so Lal. However, as the two most senior HR people in NL have been physically escorted off the premises recently, we will continue to hope.

HR has been consistently fighting an uphill battle in trying to dot their i's and cross their t's in order to get troops on the ground in the past 5 years, let alone the past or the next 5 weeks.

Sigh. The wait is on. I am in Asia and off for the summer and I was told I was under consideration and was told to forward transcripts and 3 questionnaires. But now, I'm wondering when to head back to Canada to get all my docs in a row.

As no reasons have been given, let alone a formal announcement about changes in the HR Dept in NL it's anyone's guess about the rationale behind the recent dismissals

Communication has hit a new low.

As suggested in a previous posting, the JOB would probably be well served financially and for academic purposes if an outside, professional audit was done on Facilities, IT and other key departments.

A recent communique from the QPO office suggests that non-renewal of contract notices are not over yet. There are 17 days until the end of the academic year.

Does anyone have a sort of realistic view (guesstimate I suppose) on what to expect regarding new hire contracts and visas?

No, so far as I know they are still interviewing for September.
