I'm intrigued about Sohar. What jobs are there then- nothing has been advertised. Apart from Sohar University, there's ELS and that's it.
It's actually a very pretty place-sand and beach and good swimming- Sohar Beach Hotel.
Anway enjoy whichever place you end up in, but this forum is not for pettiness.. so Relax.

The Business Directory Oman website:-

offers up a wealth of contact details for a range
of services and facilities across Oman.

This private school, Diyar International Private School, which I've never seen, is in Dibba Al Fujairah which should be on the UAE board.

This post is about Sohar, which is in Oman. Are we all clear now? !!

Laughing I'm aware she meant Dibba in Al Fujairah because I too responded to her post about it on the UAE forum. And VS knows where Fujairah is.

I'm not sure why the OP is vague and defensive about her purpose for these "life and fun in [fill in the city name]" questions on the Saudi, UAE and Oman forums. But I agree with others that anyone requesting help (in caps) could show more appreciation to those who took time to respond to her pleas for info. (Frankly, given her tone and context of her posts, she should knock Saudi Arabia off her list.) Anyway, good luck with that.

Geronimo ,Candles and Dedicated,

Many thanks for the information.
Again it helps me with my decision.

(Nomad soul = I see you can't give it a rest. Must be boring in Saudi.)

Here's a link to a video showing some of the highlights
from last year's Sohar Music Festival.

I'd give them one month, tops, in any gulf country with such an attitude. Foreigners in this part of the world with such behavior don't last long.

Laughing That is a hilarious statement considering you have no idea about my background.
I have worked over 9 years overseas, including the Gulf with no problem.
In addition, I started living overseas since the age of 12 so I know what it is like to live in another country.
Anyway...I get defensive when people on this forum write remarks that "seem" to be rude when I am just trying to get information like the rest of us who come here.
As for nomad soul- she has actually been very helpful about 2 days ago on the Saudi forum and I thank her/him for that. Goes to show that what one posts here can really be misjudged and I am just as guilty for taking things personally at times.

So don't be so quick to jump on your soap box madrileno !! Rolling Eyes Laughing

You're right. You do get defensive. Seems you can't really give it a rest either.
