book: Joseph Conrad's Victory. Actually found a used English book!
TV: not applicable
in the glass: leftover green tea
on my feet: work in progress home-made slippers
on my skin: recently, professionally mended green stretch jeans, t-shirt, synthetic hooded zippered sweatshirt, residue of "pyrolized birch" soap.
stereo: not mine. orthodox church bells or choir seem to be the options.
weather: sunny this morning but cool and cloudy now. Snowflakes not unlikely.
teaching tomorrow: Nothing. Quarters winding down and I have to make a trip into Moscow tomorrow so I moved stuff around. |

Book : Chomsky's Rogue States for the days I'm feeling intelligent and Doyle's Sherlock Holmes when I'm not (does that sound pretentious? If you haven't read and Sherlock then I highly recommend it)
TV: a blend of HBO (arrgh) CNN (argggghhhh) and the nature channels (that's better)
In the glass: Boddingtons ale
On the feet: blue plastic sh*t house slippers (more like flip flops)
On the skin: currently a T-shirt and jeans but usually a shirt and tie (how many people have to wear shirts and ties to teach?)
Stereo: as I type DJ Shadow (a little "last year" I know!)
Weather: a typhoon heading in, so a blustery but still warm day
What I plan to teach tomorrow: a day of silly vocab games |

"Just a quickie, eh?"
Talk about misleading thread titles. I never used to have a one-track mind, but with all this talk about sex...

There you go again! DMB, I can tell you that she did. Question is, if you were Andy, wouldn't you rather have the cash? |

Ok, I'll do this.
Book beside bed: 'A Fine Balance', Rohinton Mistry
On the tv: um...don't have one. what a waste of time.
In the glass: a big bowl of espresso and milk.
Feet: it's too hot for shoes
On my skin: blue shorts, my lover's striped t-shirt (it smells like him )and an orange kitten draped over my shoulders.
On the stereo: I'm listening to BBC's 'Blue Room' on the net- ('leftfield and downtempo grooves' or something like that)<http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/blueroom/tracklistings.shtml?focuswin> It's great when you're stuck on the computer all day.
Weather: this morning it's sunny, 27 degrees, 77% humidity. It's supposed to rain later.
Teach tomorrow: teach? I'm taking a 'break' from teaching to be a research assistant on a corpus linguistics/grammatical analysis project here in HK, then I'll start my Phd. Teaching highschool EFL cured me of my enthusiasm for teaching for awhile. |
