Sorry to go off topic but this reminds me of a class of 8-10 year old's I had in China a while ago. We were doing parts of the body.
"What's this?" I ask, pointing to a tooth.
"It's a tooth" comes a chorus of replies.
"What are these?" I ask again with a big, wide smile.
"They are teeth." comes the reply.
Hey, I think, this is going great as they have singular and plurals (tooth v teeth) as well as the structure (it is / they are).
"What colour are they?" I ask.
"They are yellow" comes a reply.
Hmmm...
To go slightly back on topic I'm currently working in another South-East Asian country and I agree with an earlier post that 90% of my students have terrible teeth - and they're only 20 years old.
To go back on topic it is unlikely that E.F will fire you for having bad teeth. If you are a good teacher and the students and the parents don't complain (I put a lot of emphasis on this last point about the parents) then you'll be fine. |

| Say you were in a car accident and hit your mouth on the steering wheel and you will be getting dentures soon - and do so. Have someone from the school help, if you like. They won't call you out on your lie. Looking too poor to afford dentures (which, as extensive dental work goes, are pretty cheap) would not be the best way to start your job. |
