The figure of 150 deaths a year is a reasonalbe extrapolation form Barrss's figures. According to the abstract of the report, two deaths in four years are reported from falling coconuts in a poppulation of 130,000 which makes a very conventient one death a year for a population of a quarter or million people or four deaths a year per million. That would mean a population of 35 to 40 million annualy exposed to death from falling coconuts, which does seem about right to me.
