Oh Please rollingk!

I read about the usage of the n-word related to KSA on this forum, but never heard about it in reality. However, I have heard much maligned things against the South Asians (Thai,Philippines). Sacked and then reinstated!

As for speaking with a British accent and getting a low salary, just because of the colour of ones skin- I can assure you that some of these teachers are getting paid more than 'white' skinned ones.

Oh and also I've heard typical cockney accents in KSA and they're doing great!

Who has ever heard what Victorian English sounds like- and I travel to India and Pakistan a lot. Yes, there is a certain brand of English spoken there, that is peculiar to that region, but overall the English that is spoken is on a par with good English. Listen to the Asian reporters from BBC and various other channels and business people.

Plus the teachers who are of sub-continent background speak 'proper' English. Is that what you're alluding to?

I was speaking from my experience working for a short while in India. Actually, the trainees I worked with in Chennai may have on average been better speakers than many subcontinental teachers I've encountered in KSA.

The "proper" English you speak of is only proper if the rules of pragmatics are observed. The world has moved on a bit since Victoria's time. Also, writing and speaking have different requirements in this regard.

Candles, sorry if I somehow tripped over delicate sensibilities. People will believe what they wish in the end anyway.

Actually I use the word 'perusal' is that not allowed then? If I was a lawyer I'd use ' I'd beg to differ'.....Sire! There you go- good old fashioned Victoria/Elizabethan English.
