Which is really where the OP should be directing his questions about physical education exams instead of on a site dedicated to TESOL. |

True, but maybe he doesnt know about that. I am on that forum everyday. He got the same info regardless. I am doing the same program and taking the same state exams (different subject) and also plan to get a job in the ME. |

Dear MedelinHeel,
"I think I got a good pulse on things, but hey, think what you want."
Thanks, I will. And i guess you will, too. I'll let the OP decide who is giving better advice.
" . . . . a lot comes down to timing and luck."
Ah, that reminds me - got to go buy a lottery ticket.

I guess you already know this , but you will have to take another set of exams to get your certification for ME. As far as the poster he can also call or e mail his TR rep or (if he already started the program) his assigned online tutor. I am talking about things having to do with the PE certification. |

The TR program works with the state of Florida , so when you finish the course work with them and all the required state tests(Florida) they mail everything to the state of Florida and in return you get a 5 year teacher license. You are able to do all the work from your home state and even possible take Florida's state exams there also. If you want to gain a certification in your state that will probably be allowed, but you need to call the states governing board. The director of TR can tell you what to ask them. If the state accepts Florida's teachers license , you still have to take the subject area exam(all state teacher's tests are not the same) and a general knowledge test. The state may even require teaching experience under your new certification. You are assigned a person(I call that person a teacher or person that you send your assignments to ) and this person can answer most any question you have. |

You are talking about teaching in other states and I am talking about teaching abroad. As for the states, different states require different things. Important to find out if the state has "reciprocity" with Florida ie recognizes / accepts your license however even then some states require you to take their exam(s). In general, for teaching abroad that is not the case though. |

You keep mentioning ME,but never say what it stands for , so I figured you were talking about a state. As a side note and you would probably agree with me that international schools in China do not compare with international schools in parts of Europe. |

MedellinHeel is referring to the Middle East (Egypt and the Levant) which includes the Gulf states of Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. |

ME = Middle East
As for your other comment, some schools yes, others not. Id put the best International Schools in China up against any school in the world. At the same token, China has a lot of starter / less prestigious schools. It's all relative. |
