"Are you a good 'team player'?"
This question is usually asked by employers whose "team" closely resembles this one:
Montserrat national football team: "On June 30, 2002, the day of the final match of the 2002 World Cup, Montserrat, then the lowest ranked team in the world, played against the second lowest team, Bhutan, in a friendly match known jokingly as "The Other Final", but lost 4–0 to become the worst team in the world."

| rollingk-- how would you answer such a question? |
Actually, I'd say close to what VS said, that it's a case for administration. My job is teaching. But in actuality, I don't let them get away that easily. I usually make myself such a pain the ass that I am excused from the exam before the finish time. At this point I sign and leave and let them do their business. I needn't be a party to all that nonsense after all. Soon, I find that I'm rarely scheduled for invigilating exams anymore.
About the attendance question: I'd probably feign great concern. Maybe say something along these lines:
As my primary effort is the art of teaching, I wouldn't be overly concerned with mere paperwork, and to a real teacher that's what attendance taking is after all. I would sign off on attendance, sure, because there could be extenuating circumstances unknown to me, and signing off may in fact be not only the most expedient, but best option.
Most interviewers who know anything about KSA are not looking for teachers who will always take the highest ground.
But what we say in an interview and what we do may be two different things. I have told admin in the past if they want to change attendance then change it, but don't ask me to, as I only take it, not modify it. I'll sign an empty attendance form any day they wish however.and they may fill it in as they please. |
