If you have the quals to teach in an international school, why are you applying to this one?
Apply to legit internationals. It's mid hiring season now so get going and forget about this Shanghai outfit.
Part of the jobsearch is looking for the least downside and teaching on the wrong visa is too 'downside' IMHO |

It's not clear to me what an M (F) visa is.

From wikipedia:
M means "商贸"(ShāngMào) in Chinese. From 1 September 2013, the new M Visa category will cover Business and Commercial activities. Though not mentioned in the legislation by name, some Chinese visa centres believe that internships as well as short term study will fall within the M Visa category. However, as of September 2013 there is no clear consensus across China visa offices globally and so which visa category (whether F or M) internships will fall under is still not clear. |

Hey Shroob, many thanks for that. Pitching in with an insightful response as usual.
Yeah, not sure that an M-visa or F-visa would be the way to go in this situation. The Z-visa still seems to be the legal trump card here.

Yep - especially as the other visas are so new. I'd rather wait until they've been around for a while so people know what the deal is. I know China is flexible in regards to what is allowed/not allowed, but a precedent would be nice. |
