"Also, the colder the city, the more uptight the government???"
Wow, that would explain so much about Harbin! Actually, I should lay off about it. Despite the cold, I really like the city and its people and I'm said to leave. The PSB on the other hand....
It seems we pretty much agree on the Resident Permit/Z-Visa thing. My employer has always dealt with it as well, which is why I'm not clear on enverything.
We'll have to wait for smarts' response, but I had the impression he/she had simply changed residences, so that might be easier.
I looked for Beijing expats sites, but the only one that seems to be active actually seems to have more people from Hong Kong. Go figure. |

Yong He Gong police station is where it all happens. Its a main station and it also handles chinese nationals who are applying for passports, so it is normally quite busy. There are seperate counter areas for "foreign business"
Yong He Gong police station is easy to get to as it is on the subway line.........also nearby is the Lama Temple, which is worth a visit. |

Thanks for the info smarts!
But could you confirm that you simply changed residences within Beijing or did you also change cities and/or employers?
Thanks!
