Every year, at my university they have summer school (mainly for course repeating students who have failed a level), and we just soldier on, whether it is Ramadan or not. The dates of summer school this year are June 8th to August 17th, with a break from July 17 to August 2 (2 weeks).

Working summer school at our university in Saudi is voluntary (about a third of the teachers elect to teach) and money is the main motivation, because it is double pay in the summer as we are paid for the summer months anyway, plus the extra for the summer school. So it is double salary.

Working in Saudi can be lucrative for those teachers who are willing to save, and this is possible, with some teachers banking up to 80% (or more) of their salaries, as the cost of living in Saudi is surprisingly low. A substantial number of teachers in Saudi end up buying properties after spending a few years here, and some even buy multiple properties, thereby increasing their total asset potential.

Now, with regard to the Chinese visa question, I was waiting to see if anyone else had obtained a Z visa from Saudi and any advice they might have on how to expedite the process and avoid stress.

Thank you.

I was just curious and ran a quick google search. My previous suggestion about a consulate may have merit.

Dated 1 September 2013 so it MAY be taking into consideration last year's changes.

I wouldn't wait for a response with too much hope here. What you are attempting to do is not very common.

May want to do more google searching if you haven't already.

Yes, the Saudi government likes to keep the masses appeased with a low cost of living. Used to enjoy those imported strip steaks at bargain prices.

Wait until you see the difference in your electric bills.
