You keep mentioning native speakers as if this is the same as being a holder of a passport from a country where English is spoken as a first language. A person with a passport from any country can be a native English speaker. And a holder of e.g. a UK or US passport might not even be able to speak English.
Piper2, this is not a subtle process operated by the Chinese.

He means that according to the Chinese...a passport= a native speaker and vice-versa. He's suggesting that you are being unnecessarily detailed here in regards to the relevancy of this thread topic. He's right. |

| Interesting that the OP was about 'persons of colour' but immediately became confused with race and native speakers. There are plenty of non-white Brits and USA citizens out there. Granted, they are often discriminated against by virtue of not being white, at home and abroad. |

Most of the non-white teachers here are neither European or American, most of them appear to be from African countries. And thus don't really qualify. |

Agreed. At least from what I've seen. Not sure if I have ever met a black American or European where I have lived to be honest. |

Visit Paris or London and you'll meet plenty of black Brits and Europeans. Visit any USAF overseas base or nearby town and you'll meet plenty of Black USA citizens. |

Teachers too...In Paris I worked with several black US teachers. In Britain there are many. |

Well, one important reason for using accurate language on this forum is that many readers are newbies  It is helpful to them if we use the correct terminology. E.g. RP (or RP for work) not z-visa when that is what we are talking about.
In this case, for instance, a German who grew up in the UK (or in any country but around native English speakers) could easily be a native English speaker. If this German national reads posts about native English speakers instead of posts about (the certainly more long-winded) holders of passports from countries where English is spoken as a first language s/he might be mislead.
Perhaps we could find an acronym or shorthand? 7P? As in 7 passport referring to the 7 or so main English-speaking countries. Examples of use could be "7P holders usually have...", "7P native English speakers...", "Non-7P FTs". |

From what I know, Wuhan has always been relatively accepting of people of color.
I base that upon teacher-friends I know from: Cameroon, India, South Africa and the United States.
Often, the relationship can grow according to an interview ... Skype, or ....
