So often it is when people start to have trouble with their application process that they come here to check - especially new teachers. Frustration leads to The Google... which brings them here.
If you can just get that first position and something on your CV, you will know to come back and vet employers a bit before you start applying.
The Guangzhou job sounds rather awful, but that is a great location to live and work for a year or two if you can tolerate it. Those first positions are often a nightmare.

I agree with you. I think I will be fine in China. I take everything as it comes and appreciate what I have and possess. I don't hanker after luxury rather I try my best to adopt to each situation and condition.
I've encountered people with different temperaments and learnt to deal with each one of them.
In short, I'm easygoing and easy to please. Enjoy life while it lasts. |

Hi Ukazi,
I know that you've withdrawn from the process, but I'd like to share my experience thus far of procuring a work visa with EdEx, for the benefit of anyone else who'd like some anecdotal details.
I signed a contract in August, and received the visa documents via email from Saudi Arabia 10 weeks later. This email was also sent to the visa agency, so they received electronic copies of the employment contract and visa authorisation. I was then invited to submit my passport, copies of my educational documents (including CELTA), visa application form and one passport photo to the visa agency, and EdEx paid the £500 visa processing fee, which I had paid as a deposit after signing my contract. After the successful submission of my application to the visa agency, I was then sent to do a blood test, urine test and a chest x-ray. The various components of the medical took less than 10 minutes to complete. I'm now awaiting my passport with work visa in tact, after which I've been instructed to email EdEx to book my flight to Saudi Arabia.
Just a quick note: I was reliably informed that the medicals should always be done after submitting the visa application at the agency, as the medicals have an expiry date, and in rare instances, applicants are discovered to lack the basic required qualifications for visa processing, and so their application can't be put forward to the embassy.
Hope that helps! |

Education Experts has not paid October salaries to many of their teachers yet. Some unlucky few have not been paid for 2 months. Others have an expired iqama and have had their bank accounts frozen, in addition to being unable to leave the country.
They have not been able to pay salaries on time, renew iqamas, or provide family visas for the past 3 months. They are in dire financial straits and also in the Ministry of Labour's bad books.
My first advice to anybody would be: don't come. But if you choose to do so, be very careful. You are not dealing with a normal company. |
