The wife doesn't need the sponsor if her husband has a UAE residence visa, but she does need the labour card. However, most of the employers here in the UAE openly break the law by not even getting the labour cards. They lie and tell the spouse, female, that she only is required to get the NOC letter from the husband.
If she falls for this from any employer here, she has no rights to be protected from the Ministry of Labour/ This is why these employers do this. The employer can cheat on pay, hours, etc. because technically the employee is violating the law, to include the husband residence visa holder.
However the employers are foolish as well. If caught they can get a fine of 50,000 AED plus imprisonment per incidence. But if the Emirati sponsor has wasta, nothing will happen and all will be swept under the rug. |
