What you have to do is take your renewed iqama to the bank, fill out a few papers and then they will enter it into the computer.

Best to send money back to your account bank home BUT
1. Keep cash in with you/ suitcase, because ATM's in KSA are out of money alot of times.
2. I always try to keep 500-600 Riyals in bank account because one need's 200 for an exit visa, and 300 to pay a traffic ticket (you can not get an exit visa if you have traffic tickets)

Renewing his expired iqama isn't likely to happen since he's outside KSA and no longer works for the employer that sponsored him. Frankly, at this point, I think the OP should either contact the bank directly or get in touch with a Saudi attorney. However, that still may not get him the outcome he's hoping for.

The strange thing is that my bank account at the Riyadh Bank was frozen after my IQAMA expired around September 26, and I was not able to return to Saudi Arabia through no fault of my own. For that reason, I was not able to go through the final exit procedures on time.

I would like to go back to Saudi to sort out my financial affairs, but is there any way to do this if the original IQAMA has expired? I still have the IQAMA in my possession, though, although it has expired.

The strange thing is that I am still able to use my Riyadh Bank Titanium Master Card, and was even able to make a cash withdrawal as well as pay for a couple of hotel bills.

Does anyone have any advice on this and whether it is 'safe' to use the Riyadh Bank credit card, or would it best be to avoid using it?

Thanking you for any advice you may have.

Ghost

Bank accounts are always frozen if an Iqama isn't renewed and it costs SAR1000 to unblock it.

If your exit/re-entry visa is still valid then theoretically you should be able to get back in but the expired Iqama will probably prevent you doing that. You could try on the Bahrain causeway.

Can't you contact your employer? If it's a contractor, good luck but a direct hire may be more helpful

I DID read it. He is the one who said that he got cash from his card. Since the card is likely tied to his bank account, I would still pull as much cash as I had in the account...

Very uncommon in the Jubail area, although the supermarkets often run out of Vegemite for long periods.

No, they can give you a Saudi Bank Check.

Thank you for your concern, Scot47, I appreciate that.

I am dealing with this with a patient approach. I have several people on the ground who are helping me, and am very grateful to them also.

PM me if necessary for more details.

I am now teaching in China, but the salary and benefits here do not compare with the gig at KFUPM - arguably the best gig in the Middle East, as our friend scot47 knows so well.,.....every day, I regret my departure from that (in retrospect) pleasant haven in the desert, but looking back is not profitable, I have to get on with this next chapter in my life....

Get someone at KFUPM who you trust to act with your POA to access the money and transfer it to you.

One of the supervisors at Kentucky Fried should be able to help you.
