Frankly, if you were to teach in Canada for another year (for a total of 2 years' experience), more doors would open to you with some of the better employers worldwide. |

Ah, there is no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing, as my Russian friends have always assured me. The schnauzer and I have new Scandinavian parkas; bring it on! Minus 20 forecast for my region mid-next week  |

I don't know exact salaries, but generally, a teaching license plus a couple or more years of teaching experience from your home country can net a private international school teacher in the UAE and Qatar, for example, $2400-$4000 USD/month (tax free) plus free housing, airfare, and health insurance (info posted by Teach Away). Examples -
Thailand:
- Generic EFL teachers earn 30-40k thb/month ($1000-1300 CAD) with no benefits.
- Top tier international schools recruit from abroad, pay about 100-130k thb/month ($3400-4500 CAD) + benefits like: housing, airfare, full medical insurance, etc.
Taiwan:
- Generic EFL: 50-60k twd ($1800-2200 CAD) with no benefits.
- Government schools (if you are a licensed teacher):
88,000 twd ($3200 cad) + housing, airfare, medical, family relocation assistance, etc.
Hong Kong NET teacher: US $3460 + benefits.
That home country licensure and couple years in a classroom before you venture abroad does make a difference.
