Thanks. Tried teach away but they are very slow in getting back to you, and they seem to want MA candidates. Will look at footprints, thanks.

Is now a good time to apply for TEFL/TESL jobs there?

Check out Teach Away and Footprints for openings in the UAE's public schools.

What is the visa process for the UAE? What does it entail? The visa for Korea is tough, but I don't think the one for Japan's so bad, unless it has changed.
Is the paperwork for the UAE easier?

I've never had issues getting a UAE visa. At both jobs, HR made sure we got to the right office, got in the right line and got processed quickly. They do a blood test and a TB x-ray. The blood test is mostly for HIV, but they could check for other issues, too, I suppose.

HR sent me the temporary work visa for arrival. Getting the doctors exam done might take an hour or two and getting the Emirates ID card took about an hour.

In South Korea, you need sealed copies of your transcript, an FBI background check or RCMP if you're Canadian, an apostille of your diploma, an apostille of your background check. You also need the health test. So what does the UAE need besides the things you mentioned above?

Thanks.

Gulezar was referring to the procedures after one arrives in country. You are referring to thing necessary to bring with you before you arrive. It used to be nothing in the UAE. But this is an area of lots of changes in the last few years, and there may be more now. You would need to get the latest requirements from your employer... as it may be employer dependent.
