Would someone mind clarifying the following? Does just one degree certificate (master's or bachelor's) need to be attested? I'm pretty sure the answer's yes, but just checking. |

I did hear many fled China for that very reason, it is a how long is a piece of string sort of scenario. If you need the MA for the job, it may very well be that the MA in question needs to be attested. I hope someone who has done it can clarify, the whole thing is a crock of s***e imho! |

I did it relatively recently.
Yes, they require your highest degree, so it will be the MA if that's what you have.
Or, whatever degree you are being employed on. For example, you may hold an MA but an employer may only be offering a position/paying for a position based on your bachelor's degree. So it is that degree that should be attested.
If you want chapter and verse on the process in general you can PM me. I feel like an expert now. |

Just caught this thread. I've received an offer from a uni in Saudi and I'm wondering: is there a UK agent that people would recommend? |

The legendary fixer in London used to be Les Budd. He must have gone to Valhalla by now but I heard his son is doing the same business. |

I recommend doing the attestation oneself via http://attestation.uksacb.org/. Mine took 4 weeks. It took my university 2 weeks to attest my certificate with the Saudi Cultural Bureau and a further two weeks for the Saudi Embassy to apply the electronic stamp. |

Plenty of jobs, but all this attestation stuff is the thorn in the side, a right pain, imho! |

I had my CELTA attested last year around mid-August took UKSACB around 9 days to complete the whole process of attestation, but I know a friend of mine who took over three months. I would like to add Britannia or any visa agent don’t really have any power over UKSACB, they submit and wait for the other side to do their part. I know sometimes there’s a lot of people waiting and it’s a matter of time until they get to your documents and contact your university.
Also, you mainly attest what’s required for visa like your CELTA for teachers or maybe your university or college might want both documents verified as real just encase you purchased a fake degree. I think now is the best time to get it done, I’ve just had my MA attested in two days. |

@psychedelicacy: is that a free service, that online one, provided you have all the required docs?
Cheers on. |

A half decent visa agent would speed things up and often considerably. When I did it myself I had to run around London getting all the paperwork sorted out. |

I've just got my (UK) passport back with the KSA stamp firmly attached
I'd heard it can take ages, but it's been just under 2 months from start to finish covering part of Ramadan and Eid where everything seemingly ground to a halt in Saudi.
I used www.gulfvisa.com/ and would definitely recommend them. |

Keep in mind, by law, employers have up to 90 days to get each employee's resident ID card processed. (Employment/work visas expire 90 days after issuance, not from the date of arrival in KSA.)
There are several variables to consider. The number of new hires can affect processing time. Timeframes are also dependent on the time of year the job candidate accepted the offer, and when he/she is expected to be in country. For example, someone who accepted a job offer in April for a September start date shouldn't apply for their work visa in June (for the reason above). On the other hand, those with a flexible/open start date generally can get their visa application processed sooner. Government-run universities tend to be quicker with the employment visa process than for-profit companies. Plus, some job seekers are more organized than others.
