Maybe because the system often sucks.
At least it's not "blaming the victim" - i.e. the students

It seems kind of obvious, but the better you know the test the better you will do with this. There are all sort of books for test prep. I'm not very familiar with IELTS, but know PET backwards and forwards. I do break the componants of the test down to parts, but then we also take a topic area (like free time) and a grammar point (like simple past) and look at how that might be used in the different reading sections, listening sections and how the students might use that in their speaking and writing sections. I've become so good at writing PET like writing prompts that Cambridge really ought to employ me.
Put your google skills to work and google IELTS prep and hit your school up for some books, there are tons from all the major publishers. |
