| About the visa, can I get my CELTA/TEFLA attested to get a work permit as I have an unrelated degree and I have been advised that you need to attest something related to the job you are going to do in Saudi, which is my CELTA. |

| I have been offered a job with Quality Education Holding Co for 8500 basic salary plus 2750 housing plus 600 transportation, total 11850SAR. |
Here's a perspective from someone with Sowdy firmly in the rear-view mirror, lived the life there for a decade, became something of a master brewer during that time and wouldn't replace the experience of living in that fascinating place for anything in the world.
I earned SAR7850 on my first contract in 1993. However, we were lodged in an apartment building in ritzy Al-Olaya (where my wife had a 5-minute walk to Al-Akiriya Mall to keep her entertained), all utilities, a Toyota Corolla, exercise facilities at the DQ jobsite, plus the usual of return airfare & other yadda. It was a living wage b/c EVERYTHING was cheap & highly subsidized, unlike today.
So, essentially, you're being offered early 90's wages w/o the creme that made my job (12-hour days) tolerable.
I ache for the people who are drawn to Sowdy nowadays like moths to a flame...
...for, essentially, subsistence wages. |

Edex paid more than QEHC does now. You can see downward spiral in Saudi Arabia, the land of opportunity and plenty. It used to be a weird Saudi company here and there that were despicable niggards, but now it's the new norm. |

| QEHC are offering me a job for 8500. I told them they said 9000 and to put it up. They wrote back and said it's non negoiable. Jokers or what. 8500 sar is £1500. You can get that in Asia |

If you want employers to take you KSA on a Business Visa, these are the kind of offers you can expect but there are some exceptions to this of course. |

| I don't think they will do a business visa. I asked them twice and didn't get any reply, plus they have a visa department. They gave me his skype ID and I spoke to him and he was just saying he thinks he can get me a work visa. so, I don't think they do biz visas even tho the salary is shockingly low. |

Dude, really don't bother. EVERYONE is onto you by now - after all, this is about your 25th. identity in 2016. No one is interested anymore. Go find some other site to scam for entertainment |

| pardon? Look I've been offered a job with this company and I don't think I am going to take it as it's too low an offer (8500). But at the same time it's still £1500 per month. Don't think they'll do a biz visa though but they haven't actually said that they won't. |

| 8500 SAR for a native speaker to teach on a university PYP in KSA seems quite low. I know a veteran teacher who was making much more than that with another contractor, then left KSA. QEHC has recently offered her the same SAR 8500 to teach at a university in Riyadh. It would appear that they are offering that amount to all applicants, regardless of experience or job location. These low salaries are becoming the new norm for non-direct hire positions. |

| Nomad Soul, that's a good question. I'm not entirely sure, but I presume so, as their job adverts all state a fixed salary. Take for example, their recent ad on Dave's which offers US$2500. The particular teacher mentioned in my previous post has an English degree (bachelor), but I can't say whether or not QEHC considers that as related. |

Don't sign a contract for 9 or even 10k SR and then moan when you are disrespected and treated like rubbish.
Companies are not stupid. They know that only the desperate and those with no self respect will come to KSA for a paltry 9k. Hence, they will take full advantage of you knowing that you have no other option!
QEHC are getting peanuts for their contract. The days of generous contracts are over. Everything is double checked. A reputable company could not function with the current contracts being signed.
Think! |
