I'm not sure what you're talking about. This thread isn't about booze. |

Preloading with alcohol from the off license in the car park of the gulf hotel is the key to a good night. |
Would an FT working in Dammam, be able to purchase booze from the offy in said hotel with no bahrain work permit? Is a booze permit required like Oman? Or can one just turn up and buy some with/without showing a passport to take back to a hotel room, if a non muslim? |
Haha, you definitely haven't been there have you!!
It's a free for all, anyone can buy booze there. Always amusing seeing the thirsty Saudis and Indians stocking up.
And I remember being there the weekend before Ramadan, locals doing some serious shopping that weekend.
It's an off license LIKE no other. An oasis of alcohol in a barren desert. |

I was replying to another poster's comments re Bahrain, which definitely has a lot of live music, which might be a good option for you.
You say you're on decent money, so why not get over the bridge and enjoy yourself a little. |

Thanks for the info bud. Amusing to read of, and I would imagine even crazier to witness all those from over the causeway boozing it up
Cannot be done in Oman, one needs a booze permit, or to know someone who has one and does not mind sharing.
Nope, never been to bahhh-rain, thanks again. |
