Why not just go on a pilgrim's visa ? You can take in Mecca and Medina and then do a bit of work "on the side" ? |

Siobhan22 like I said I thought the business visa would be handier, but apparently I need a letter from my home country inviting me over to saudi which is impossible to get. I don't know how my previous employers managed to get me a Business Visa, unless it was a Work Visit Visa. Is there an easier way togo about getting a Business Visa ? |

er... find an employer who is up front and honest and will give you the legally required iqama.
So, no, there's no easier way. |

So if a Working Visa and the Business Visa process is so byzantine then my last option for a speedy deployment must be a Work Visit Visa. Has anyone here had experience of working in the KSA on that ? |

sorry, maybe I've misunderstood. You're trying to get a job in Saudi Arabia, right? |

The Saudi sponsor determines the visa type and may not have visa options for job candidates to choose from.
Either refer to the sticky on visa types or check out the visa process requirements on the Saudi Embassy's website (in your home country). |

Get a legit employer - and exercise patience. You may have to wait and the time of deployment may not be convenient. |

There are the desperate who will comply with these lunatic requests. Aswe speak someone in Bradford of Leicester is probably setting up a company for the sole purpose of producing these documents. |
I would not be surprised if these bogus companies are being set up on a big scale. These scams are getting more and more sophisticated each week. |

All the better to focus on offers that entail a proper work visa. |

since majority of so-called TEFLers are English native speakers/or American/British/Canadian passport holders without proper TEFL qualification or some are without any university degrees/qualifications except Phuket ones, it is fair and just from Saudi side to offer non-employment type visa for so long, its a win-win situation. not sure who scamming whom

That's likely the average teacher profile of the company you recruit for. You should consider raising your standards. |

Universities also hire passport holders with masters degrees in any discipline |

Another generalization. Besides, biz/work visit visas tend to be utilized by for-profit companies and not by direct-hire universities. |
