One more thing.
That will likely be a 10 month contract - Sept 2017 to June 2018. |

Has anyone experienced a contract from a recruiter that does not state the school name in the contract only the name of the recruiting agency? Is it possible to be placed in a school/ location other than the one stated by the recruiter?
If I have a contact email for employment at the University being recruited for, then is it ok to apply directly to the university? |

Sean
A reputable recruiter should connect you directly with a school/university and the school will pay them a headhunter's fee. I would just find another recruiter or find a posting done by the school itself. After you get in at one school, you can begin looking for a better opportunity the second year. |

A recruiter would not be authorised to issue an invitation which you use to support your Z visa application.
Likely scenario is that recruiter will get you to sign and hold off while they hawk you around.
Most of the questions you have will be school specific so until that piece of the jigsaw is filled in, you can't make an informed decision.
Is the recruiter stating salary?
I would be applying like mad to other opportunities. Listing on seriousteachers.com etc. |

This is a weird one. As pointed out by NS, you will go to the school whose name appears on the letter of invitation. That letter of invitation will be produced by the Provincial Ministry of Education (or some other related governmental organ, not the school or the recruiter). If you've received no such letter and have been told to arrive on a tourist visa, RUN.
What do you mean by you "have a contact email at the university being recruited for"? You should have gotten a copy of the school's contract before you agreed to go to the school. The name of the school may not be entered onto the contract simply because nobody thought to put the school's name on it (though Party A is usually identified as the employer).
I agree with NS that you should be putting more irons in the fire. By this time, there should be no question regarding which school will be hiring you.
If there are still so many unanswered questions at this point, contacting the school directly probably won't tell you what you want to know. |

The OP is likely asking if directly contacting the school compromises their position with the recruiter or school...
Which I doubt it would. Don't be shy.
As Bud & NS have noted, it's late in the hiring season and a level of chaos is high. Unanswered emails are common. Spread your bets.
China's a matter of so many positions and hires, no-shows are not uncommon. |
