A distance degree is not a degree mill. A distance degree requires MORE work than an "in-house" degree because the student must be far more disciplined in order to learn and complete the required assignments in a timely manner. They are often more expensive due to shipping costs.
My degree is not a distance one, and I sit in lectures daily but I have taken one distance course to fullfill a requirement.
I can assure you that people taking distance courses have much more motivation than the lazy brats that just drink coke and stare at the walls during their 100-level Introduction to Criminology courses, and complain about having write an "giant" 4 page essay.
Motivation is one of the strongest factors that a potential employee can have!
Also, it should be said that it is simply unfair to deny an education to those who are otherwise unable to physically attend a university, due to disabilities, remote location, childcare responsibilities, etc. |
