US Passports require one ear to be visible (at least when I had my passport renewed in'99 that was the spec). All American INS docs require the same.
Chinese visas require a full-face headshot.
I'm going to have to check out the U.S. embassy in Russia and the Russian embassy in Washington. I can't believe that anyone would accept a digital unless it's from an official source, but then again, things are changing rapidly. My state drivers license picture is digital--- it doesn't even resemble me!
I believe that biometrics will probably supplant all other IDs. I was in an airport that took a scan of my hand a few weeks ago. I can't access my safe deposit box at my bank without a hand scan. But they still want my driver's license!

Nope, for my resident permit and work visa here in China. And I have the negaitives gotta love China. |
