I'm in GZ. Two classes. 14 periods a week. The (Govt) College asked me to teach a class of 50 students but I explained how the students English would improve much quicker if they were split into two classes and they agreed, within 24 hours.
I get paid well and have good accommodation. Oh, and overtime is 120 rmb hour. It's my second year.
Next time go for a Govt. College!

I guess so. I'd be working a crapload of OT for 120 per period. By the by, most of the new FTs here are already frustrated and ready to split. I saw the same thing around this time last year. I too was frustrated at that time, now it's just minor annoyances - - I guess you learn to adapt and don't let all the little things bother you after a while.

Today I cleaned out my classrooms with the help of the 5th floor cleaning lady. I tried to give her a bit of money for her troubles but she wouldn't take it. I'll bring her some fruit of something tomorrow. My Chinese liason was on the phone today helping to arrange the purchase of the textbooks/workbooks (30rmb per student) and inquiring about my computer and getting desks into the classroom. So, things are happening now. I'm sure you all are deeply fascinated so I'll update you as time goes by.
