Japanese kids can range from angels to horrible - unfortunately, mostly the latter. The expectations in the classroom clash with Japanese culture - that is, that small children are subject to no discipline as they will be receiving plenty of that once they grow up. So we're expected to teach children who are basically undisciplined, we have no power to control their behaviour, parents and staff are of no help whatsoever and who gets the blame when Brat-Features doesn't learn anything because all he wants to do is tear up the classroom/attack the other kids/scream and cry - you guessed it!

Avoid teaching kids at all costs!

There you go again, misunderstanding things. I wasn't advertsing myself to potential employers, I was asking questions about whether or not I could teach only adults, instead of sea crabs.

But if the need for you to pull back from embarrassment and get one up is that strong/sad then OK ....... I wanted someone to give me a job.

I was passing on a message from another moderator who read your post and that was his comment. No need to get snitty about it.

I just registered for this website and I've already noticed that most of the times when someone posts a question, instead of receiving constructive answers from people, most if not 99% of the posted replies are actually comments on other posters' comments. I guess by the very act of writing this I too am engaging in the same kind of behavior but something has to be said about the level of maturity on these boards. Why is everyone criticizing one another? This thread was about teaching children I believe, but how many people have talked about that. It seems like it's more important to mince words over who said what and nipper this, nipper that. Is this kind of 'pissing contest' commonplace on all the discussion forums?
