I haven't seen Ludwig post anything but useless, insulting, vitriolic comments. There's nothing wrong with being honest (brutally if necessary sometimes), but reading posts on this forum is like watching children fight in the playground- pretty sad.

Case in point- this thread which started off as a request for info and airfare and somehow turned into some kind of ridicuous pissing competition about who visited more cities- who really cares!

This particular Hong Kong forum is truly becoming useless. It seems like certain personailites are just waiting to pounce and twist every thread into a reason to beat their chests and abuse others.

Clearly this wasn't the intention of the forum.

Where are the moderators? Isn't it time to lock out Ludwig and others who continue with their sad little tantrums?

Are there alternative HK forums?

Once again, 'once again' puts his foot in it. I was referring to PMs. Perhaps if you had more interests in your life you would not have to make sad and pathetic trollish posts.

Ive just started back in the teaching game after a year back home in Australia and I cant believe Ludwig is still posting. This is the guy that used to be Bertrand he was comical then and comical now. No one should object to people standing up to him he is quite the most objectionable person to have posted here.

When he hasnt googled his pretentious responses to questions of grammar he will sometimes post thoughtful comments. Of course, later he will state spurious facts and spit venom at anyone who reminds him that living in mainland China during the greatest period of social change the world has ever seen is far more exciting than living a dull existence in Hong Kong. He has been writing this drivel for years! There are literally 100s of erroneous posts where he offers comparisons of Hong Kong and China apropos of nothing.

Dont be fooled by his speciousness either. Anyone who states with a straight face that they have 10 'O' levels and 2 'AS' levels' is getting desperate. He may as well add his cycling proficiency badge, driving test and bronze medallion life-saver award (if he has them). In the way that only daft people join Mensa, only an arrogant clown would mention his doctorate. Is that meant to be impressive? Its hard for many of us to believe that he has time to study considering that he posts a nerdtastic 6 messages A DAY on Daves. The pitiful life of a loner, of the supreme geek. Ludwig is Monty Burns crossed with Gollum mean, pasty, oily, bitter and without a drop of human decency.

He dreams of being a diplomat, a CEO anything to feel that he has achieved. He imagines his own witty repartee at parties and elegant women swooning over him but the reality is that hes the guy in the corner with a tie thats a little too short and whose body odour has a premature early whiff of cabbage. Unfortunately, he failed to adapt to life in real China and escaped to a comfortable life in Hong Kong where he realizes he has less and less time to be successful and have a real income. To make himself feel a little bit less of a failure he will make false claims about incomes in real China to try and justify the facts that he cant afford to buy property back home, is only a mediocre speaker of Chinese after all this time and has had no lasting relationship to speak of. On top of all that theres the sneaky and nagging suspicion that even his own family think hes a bit of a pr(tw)at.

Look back at all his various incarnations. A psychologist would have a field day. Attacking complete strangers, denouncing others, sitting at his computer for hours and hours a day. We have the makings of bona fide loon, a 24 carat mentalist. This is his life! Doesnt that tell you what a pitiful (though unpitiable) creature he is? Years and years of the same Roderick Spode like frustration has led to endless mind-numbingly tedious responses to legitimate requests for help and information. He bores most with his filth and mock-gravitas tone. The guy takes himself so seriously that he recently wrote I sought to capture some of the inherent moody tranquillity of the scene in this picture from Istanbul (I kid you not) next to an image that looks like it was taken by a insane and drunken wombat using an early Polaroid camera. He has forgotten what his mother told him about what would happen to his eyesight if he spent too much time alone with his airfix kits while whacking one out over Dan Dare (or even The Mekon, this is Luwig after all). He has about as much ability to take photos as a blind stella sea cow on acid yet he still thinks he can post his efforts and take up inordinate amounts of bandwidth to try and show the world that he is a renaissance man of many talents. A jack of no trades and a master of none I feel.

A year ago there was a concerted effort just to ignore him lets just do that again. I cant think of anything else we can do for a guy whose sole enjoyment is to spend his days posting on a forum read by a few hundred and rubbing his hairy palms together in glee when thinking of who (he imagines) he has devastated with his astoundingly humdrum barbs.

Nice second post, 'Liam' - very constructive.

There is, of course, (at least) one great underlying difference. For whereas I hold a university post in the First World with a full and professional remuneration package (pension, insurance, savings plan, etc.), 'IQ of 2 over Lee' - and his bunch of imaginary 'friends' is, and this is being charitable on my part, a 'private training centre' 'teacher' (I use the term in its broadest possible sense and only as means of ready identification) in a Third World state earning little more than the pittance I spend on dining out every month (which is why this particular troll is such a lunatic). By definition, I have more time than him/her (I would opt for the latter; this troll has obvious female characteristics). Also, I write quickly and effortlessly (I am, after all, a writer). 'IQ of 2 over Lee', in stark contrast, obviously has to stab out (primary school) words letter by letter.

Personally, I think she could spend her time in a more productive fashion by getting a degree.

I just have to know what my obvious female characteristics are?

Actually Luddy, I earned 19000 a month in the grim mainland with free apartment, I would say that would give more saving power than you with your 30K in HK.

Im really getting to you, am I not?

If you say so. I would say, however, that it seems quite very clear to me that the only person you are "getting to" is yourself; not surprising given your current circumstances, of course.

Didn't your mothers ever tell you that it's very uncouth to discuss financial matters, especially in the manner that you two are (p i s s i n g contest?).

Ludwig, don't be so pedantic, it does you no favours.

So yes Ludwig, you are indeed a writer is the sense that you write a lot here. Nearing 7 posts a day. That makes you some writer! Congratulations! However, as shown by the above recent quotes, your self image as a "literary figure", or indeed a "hack" is not born out by the reality of your posts. They are, to be honest, way below the wit and language ability shown by my non- native students.
But don't let that damage your self esteem. If you think the most valuable thing in life is coming here and posting seven times a day to the mirth of others, then you should have the highest self esteem of anyone I know.
