I get 3,500 per month, and one of the younger male teachers gets 4,000 per month. At least one of the young female teachers gets 4,000 per month also.
They all work exactly the same hours I do.
I am not really complaining - as there is no point and I would just spend whatever they gave me anyway - just pointing out that it MAY have something to do with age - but no necessarily.
None of the others, apart from the one male, have any more qualifications than I do - that I know of.
It will be interesting to see what they pay me next year when they renew my contract for the third year. |

For what it's worth, a "usually reliable source" claims he was told this week at the Shanghai Education Bureau that red books (Foreign Expert certificates) were not being issued to anyone 70, or, for that matter, approaching 70. How long this has been going on was not clear. |
